Another list of lessons to add to my digital journal. Closer to my thirties and I’m very unwell. I will not be thinking about that until further notice. With that being said let’s get started with this list before I think about that again. Haha
1. If I’m missing the newborn phase I remember that when I come home, Lincoln wraps his little arms around me for the biggest hug and I love that
2. Parenting is trying to do a hundred things at once during a nap or whenever your child is occupied only to not get anything done
3. I’m always in a hurry for the next phase in life when I’ve wished for this exact phase that I’m in right now
4. I get it when people say the days feel so long, but the years go by fast
5. Retail is very physically demanding so I’ve reached a point where it’s truly not worth it if I’m sacrificing my well being
6. Every new phase with Lincoln is a transition that is difficult for me to adjust to
7. A new season means shopping for new clothes/shoes that will fit Lincoln. However, my bank account is still not fully adjusted to that
8. I’m loving saving money now but a new bag for every occasion is my weakness
9. I can get very nervous spending a lot of money on one purchase. The upside to that: I’ve grown up
10. My biggest fear is Lincoln having some sort of anxiety and whether I’m capable to help him
11. It’s not easy pushing through my own anxiety out and about with Lincoln
12. Sleep training has gone very well, but one day Lincoln won’t ever want to sleep with me, so I’m trying to take advantage of that rather than feel bad when he’s slept with me for a couple nights in a row
13. My chronic back pain has forced me to take better care of myself
14. Finding a doctor that makes you feel valued and respected is so important
15. 2 years in parenting and I’m still not a morning person
16. I need to be more assertive and set some boundaries
17. Lincoln’s attachment to me makes me feel like we have the best bond already and I hope it stays that way
18. Saying random words just to hear Lincoln repeat it is my favorite
19. I always start new hobbies and then quit within a week or 2
20. Once you have kids your friend circle doesn’t exist anymore especially when people think you’re too busy to even make time for them
21. Making new mom friends would be ideal but I’m very introverted and avoid all kinds of human interaction so that’s nearly impossible
22. At this phase in life where I need structure and a routine to function
23. I have very intrusive thoughts about harm coming to myself and Lincoln and I fear that is unusual
24. I always feel the need to get things done ASAP especially when it’s not possible
25. I strive to live this minimalistic lifestyle
26. The thing about happiness I’ve found is it don’t live in bigger houses
