10 things I wish I knew before having a baby/motherhood

Motherhood/being a parent is not easy. It’s the most difficult job to take on and a lot of the times you find that you’re doubting yourself with every decision/situation. In this post we talk about all the things they don’t tell you about motherhood or just things that were surprising/didn’t expect until it happened.

At least for me anyways. So shall we get into it?

  1. If you get sick your child will get sick and vice versa every time

2. On the same note moms don’t take sick days. I have gotten sick so many times in the past year and each time was a long recovery

3. You’re either blessed with a good sleeper or not. In my case I am not

4. Each cry sounds a bit different for different needs. Although I could never distinguish between them except for a sleepy cry

4. Rotating toys or placing one at a time is ideal when keeping them busy for a longer period of time. Each day/week can be a new set of toys

5. If you choose to get things done around the house during nap time, keep 1-3 items on your list with priority being on the top of the list so that you’re not left disappointed that you weren’t able to accomplish more

6. On that topic, as a parent, your to do list is never ending

7. Bringing your child to grandparents or daycare and then rushing to work is most likely the most exhausting part of your day

8. There will always be a time where someone has an opinion on how you raise your child

9. You will always feel like what you’re doing is not enough regardless of the phase/situation you’re in

That is all for now. But I’m pretty positive that there will be more. So keep an eye out for a part 2!!

Until then I will see you in my next post!!
